17 mins: Turn rejection into a superpower

Mini-masterclass with actress, host and activist Kimberley Crossman.

What you'll learn:

Actress and comedian Kimberley Crossman knows rejection well – she wasn’t even cast as ‘herself’ in a show (really). Kim combines humour and brain science to that gut-punch feeling we all know and dread.

💡 Rejection is a full-body experience: Your brain treats rejection exactly like physical pain – that’s why it hurts so much when someone says no. So, cue sweaty palms, fuzzy thinking, and the urge to eat chocolate (science says this is perfectly normal, btw).

💡 What you don’t deal with will deal with you – After one too many career knocks, Kim spiralled. No amount of ‘shower and start again’ could fix it. Her breakthrough? Stop pretending she was fine and start untangling her worth from her work. Tougher than it sounds (and for her, led to a podcast).

💡 It means you’re in the arena – The most successful people get rejected most often because they take more shots! Kim now actively seeks rejection as proof she’s playing the game. Each ‘no’ builds emotional calluses – less sting, easier bounce-back.

💡 Medicate wisely: Feel terrible but set a timer (today’s a write-off, tomorrow’s a fresh start), extract the useful bits (what could you actually control?), and then reward yourself just for showing up (teach your body it survived).
