26 mins: AI Foundations

With Fiona Hewitt, founder of Unboxable – helping people prepare for an AI-enabled future.

What you'll learn:

Does your AI robot spit out canned, generic content – and are you spending too much time getting to the actual answer you need? Fiona Hewitt is here to help. Phew.

Fiona is the founder of Unboxable, and works with organisations to prepare their people for an AI-enabled future. In this session, she shares a simple process to set up your robot to sound like you:

💡 Write your context document: Pasted into any AI tool, it instructs AI who you are, how you like to write, what you’re working on, and what to avoid (including those annoying AI tropes). A context doc boosts the quality of what comes back, and she takes you through it step by step.

💡 A prompt is a briefing, not a question: Fiona uses an example of meal planning, going from ‘give me a meal plan’ all the way to a supermarket-aisle-organised shopping list for a family of four. The more specific you are, the more useful the response.

💡 Treat AI as a thinking partner: AI is wired to please you – it defaults to encouraging, agreeable, and fast. If you want it to push back, surface trade-offs, or give you the honest version rather than the flattering one (it won’t tell you when it’s guessing, or outright lying), you have to be explicit.

There’s more in the session too – Fiona covers security settings, voice input, and a few shortcuts worth knowing.
