What you'll learn:
We asked where food rules came from, and woah, you answered: mums doing Weight Watchers, an ex who commented on your thighs, ‘finish your plate, children are starving,’ the Kate Moss line about nothing tasting as good as skinny feels. No wonder so many of us struggle. Nicole Gaviria is building a food freedom coaching business called Binge Free Bestie, and last year won a competition backed by Steven Bartlett against 16,000 other entrepreneurs.
She shared a few helpful tools:
💡 Notice the voice that’s keeping score – Was I good today, did I eat clean, was that too much – that’s not you talking, and it’s not fact. Nicole shares a quick way to put some space between yourself and that voice.
💡 Get in touch with what your nervous system needs with HALT – Hungry? Angry or agitated? Lonely or bored? Tired? Naming the real need – whether that’s food, a boundary, rest, or connection – is more useful than any rule about what or when to eat.
💡 The mental load has a professional cost – Energy spent monitoring what you ate, should eat, or shouldn’t have eaten is energy not going into your next decision or your next step.
