The most impactful 45-minutes of your month
Short, focused sessions that challenge thinking and help drive positive change. Participate anytime, live or on demand, and choose from topics like:
Helping everyone belong
Martin King is the founder and director of Pride Pledge. He’s adopted, queer, a parent… And has never taken the easy path. He shares ways to ensure your whole team feels included – and common mistakes to avoid.
Giving better feedback
Rachael Fitzjohn has spent her career in the rooms where things get uncomfortable. She tackles simple ways to deliver clear, kind feedback that helps your people improve.
Leadership as a service
Pera Barrett is driven by serving others. After a fatal car accident, he spent four months in hospital processing a guiding principle that might change how you spend your time.
Growth with discomfort
Bruce Pilbrow has spent his career throwing himself – and others – into the deep end (literally). He shares his leadership approach: getting uncomfortable, staying vulnerable and not trying to fix everything.
Everyday allyship
Judy O’Brien has spent over two decades working in harm prevention and culture change, making environments where everyone belongs. Work through a practical framework for stepping up in regular everyday interactions.
Hard calls made human
Nick Churchouse, People & Culture Lead at Snapper (and Powrsuiter), has pivoted careers a few times – from marine science (in the tropics) to journalism to startup incubators. He encourages you to refuse to meet others’ expectations and do what feels right.
Workplace safety
Journalist, co-founder of Tika (NZ’s first tech-enabled legal charity tackling sexual harm) and the force behind #MeTooNZ, Ali Mau shares the scale, reporting rates and cost of sexual harm at work – as well as critical dos and don’ts if you’re the first person someone tells.
Pay equity decoded
Jonathan Morgan is the Co-Founder of LiveRem and has spent 15+ years leading tech and data teams across software, logistics, and finance companies. After processing real-time pay data from 170+ companies, he reveals some uncomfortable truths about pay equity.
Wellness for dads
From finance leader to mental health advocate, Aidan Kyrke-Smith’s life changed when postnatal depression hit after becoming a new dad. His viral blog ‘Dadpression’ kick-started a new mission: supporting thousands of men through similar experiences.
What is leadership?
Mark Lewis didn’t set out to be an HR leader. The former adventure trainer and NZ Army instructor accidentally found his way there. Along the way, he learnt that traditional recruitment is broken and now champions building diverse teams where leaders don’t need all the answers.
Motherhood and leadership
Dr Amanda Sterling‘s research on mothers in leadership challenges our assumptions about who can lead (even if we don’t openly acknowledge it!) After experiencing serious career barriers following maternity leave, she pursued a PhD to explore systemic issues of what we think leadership should look and act like.
Courage of conviction
Ivan Tava built his career creating new pathways for others – transforming PWC’s consulting practice in Christchurch before working with Papua New Guinea farmers. Born in PNG and raised in Nelson as ‘the only brown boy,’ he shares an approach to blending cultural understanding with practical strategies to lead better.
What is meritocracy?
Reuben Tucker isn’t your typical banker – he’s just as likely to be found swimming between islands or cycling for good causes. He shares how his grandfather’s courage as a WWII medic shaped his values and how his mix of corporate and sports leadership gives him a unique take on building strong teams with a high-performance and ‘fair’ lens.
How to influence
Being influential isn’t just for suits and boardroom deals – it shows up in all our daily interactions. Stu van Rij is a lawyer turned leadership coach specialising in the art of influence. Learn how to really understand people and have meaningful conversations for a win-win – keeping their values and your reputation intact.
Lifting others up
Abinesh Krishan shares his journey from Fijian sugarcane fields to business leadership. Descended from indentured labourers, he shares his grandmother’s wisdom and how winning a Fulbright scholarship was his ‘hand up’ from poverty. He’ll also challenge what you think you know about the people surrounding you.
